The Print Fair is being held at the LA Convention Center in the southern part of downtown Los Angeles. It is one of the longest running print fairs in the United States, which brings together art dealers who are members of the International Fine Print Dealers Association (IFPDA). The IFPDA is an organization of expert dealers dedicated to promote the meaning of printmaking. This technique is a medium of artistic expression and has been used in over 500 years. The Print Fair presents an ideal opportunity to review the works of higher quality and authenticity of many important artists.
The works at the Print Fair are both original or fine prints. An original print is created by an artist to be a work of art in its own right other than a copy of pre-existing drawings/paintings. Visitors can expect to see some engravings, etchings, and lithographs made by artists from Durer and Whistler to Diebenkorn and Ruscha. This makes the Print Fair a bridge gap between historical and traditional, modern, and contemporary art. This event will occur from January 23rd through the 27th in 2013.
